Bihar Govt to Collect Information of RSS

The Bihar government instructed its district police officers to collect details on functionaries of RSS ( Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) and associate outfit. RSS is the ideological parant of Bharatiya Janta Party(BJP), which is an ally of of the bihar government in power.

The superintendent of the police of special branch of the bihar police issued a letter to all dupty superintendents to gather information on RSS and all its associate outfits.

What Information Government Want To Gather

Letter of superintendent asked to gather all details including names, addresses, telephone numbers and business connections of all office bearers including president, vice president, secrateries, joint secrateries, treasurers or others of RSS and its following associates organizations. suprintendent has written in letter that “please comply immediately”.

Political Repurcussion

JD(U) national secretary KC Tyagi said is routine work. “It is routine work which police and intelligence agency or even central government also does it from time to time”.

BJP leaders express surprise over the police move and some leader is saying that party must be careful of the intention of chief minister Nitesh Kumar, who also hold portfolio of home in government of Bihar.

Tiwari however asserted that developement will not have any impact on JD(U) -BJP ties is Bihar.

After the public outcry made by BJP, chief minister Nitesh Kumar has directed home secretary to act against police officer responsible for issuing such letter without informing the department. Bihar police is likely to take action against some police officers in connections with a letter from its special branch

So far, police headquarter has maintained that letter was issued without the knowledge of concern top police officers.
